In an action packed week you relive the historic Operation Chastise, the 1943 plan to destroy 3 mighty Ruhr dams, the Möhne, Sorpe and Eder dams, which provided vital services to German industry. En route, you will visit a museum with an original Dambuster bomb, and a V2 launch center in France whose construction was possibly delayed thanks to the Dambuster operation.
Depending on your duration, you will ride through the industrial complexes of the Ruhrgebiet, and visit a Gasometer in Oberhausen, part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage. In a day-long round trip, you will then ride to all 3 dams, and return to the UK via scenic routes through the German Eifel region, Luxembourg and Belgium. In this H-D Approved Short Break Tour, you will visit 6 European Countries and representative H-D dealerships.
Day 1
After arriving in the UK, transfer is organised from the airport to your hotel, where you stay for 2 nights. In the evening, meet your fellow travellers and Tour Guides for a welcome drink and dinner.

Day 2
After collecting your Rental Harley-Davidson from Guildford H-D, we will do a short ride to Brooklands Museum, stepping under a real Concorde and looking at a original Dambuster bomb. Easy going through British country roads to shake off the cobwebs of jetlag and adjust to the narrower and winding roads of Europe.

Day 3
Leaving Guildford after breakfast, we ride down to Folkstone to take the Eurotunnel train to Calais. We will visit La Coupole, a impressive WW2 German basis build to launch V2 rockets into London.

Day 4
A scenic day ride through 4 countries, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. Enroute we take short breaks at 3 H-D dealerships, Lille (F), Ghent (B) and Veghel (NL), before visiting and having drinks at the Harley-Davidson Thunderbike Roadhouse in Hamminkeln.

Day 5
Ride through the German Ruhrgebiet and visit of a historic Gasometer near Oberhausen. Ride into the Sauerlandregion, staying in a local Hotel for 2 nights, with breakfast and dinner included.

Day 6
After breakfast, we leave for our “flight-ride” around the 3 dams, Sorpe, Möhne, and Eder, followed by a short visit to the H-D dealership in Kassel. After returning to our hotel, a “mission accomplished” drink and dinner are included in the Tour price.

Day 7
We ride back west via the German Eifel region, making sure not to miss a visit to the small Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. After a picturesque ride through the Ardennes, we stay overnight in a hotel near Bastogne, Belgium.

Day 8
Early departure for the long ride home on the motorways. There will be appropriate breaks and we stay overnight in the small town of Hardelot-Plage for a stroll along the Opale Shore beach.

Day 9
After breakfast and a short ride along the coast to the Eurotunnel near Calais, we proceed to Guildford Harley-Davidson to return our rental motorcycles by 12:00. Transfer from 15:00 onwards to airport or hotel as individually arranged.
