The iconic 911 has always been popular among driving enthusiasts and race fans seeking a road car inspired by racing success. In turn, the 911 GT3 takes these proven, race-bred Porsche genes and further intensifies the dynamic link from the track to the road. All Porsche racing cars are developed in Flacht and tuned on the Porsche test grounds for use on racetracks around the world. The recent Le Mans winner, the 919 Hybrid was first tested at Flacht as are all Porsche GT models. Almost nowhere else in the world is the interplay between motorsport and series production more intense. The new 911 GT3 benefits not only from years of motorsport experience, but, above all, from the obsession of its developers.
The naturally aspirated engine of the new 911 GT3, with maximum revs of 9,000 rpm, develops 500 hp and torque of 460 Nm from a 4.0-litre displacement, an increase of 25 hp over its predecessor. Through the standard PDK transmission, the new 911 GT3 accelerates to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds. For those customers where the primary focus is on a highly puristic and emotional driving experience, rather than the best possible performance, a 6 speed manual gear box will be available as an option (available from September, for the first two months, all production will be PDK).
The car will be first displayed to the public at the Geneva Motor Show (March 7th to 19th) and the first UK deliveries are expected to start from August onwards. The recommended retail price will start from: 911 GT3 - £111,802.00 including VAT
