Earlier this month Marc Jordan, Head of Business at our Triumph East London store, started a journey with 7 other riders to the Welsh Brecon Beacons for an unforgettable time at the Triumph Adventure Experience.
Triumph's world-class facilities include a multi-terrain arena, fully equipped adventure centre; incorporating a classroom, briefing room, and refreshment area. During their trip, the 8 riders were able to experience a full range of Triumph models built for off-road riding.

"On the 12th of April Triumph East London along with 7 customers headed to the Triumph Adventure Centre for a day of off-road training.
Meeting first at the dealership, our sales specialist John Cullen was on his first trip with us, welcoming and helping prepare himself and everyone else for the journey ahead. One of the amazing things about these trips is people meet strangers and come home as great friends.
We headed off at 10 AM making a leisurely ride around the M25 and onto the M4 where we had our first stop and a chance for a coffee. Something that's elevated these adventures even more is using helmet comms. Having the ability to speak to those on the same adventure as you helps build relationships and the stories and general chat are hilarious, especially when people forget they are live! You can imagine...
After crossing the bridge into sunny Wales, we stopped again for a drink and to stretch our legs. The excitement was growing at this point, helped by the fantastic weather. After another 45 minutes, we arrived at the Abercrave Inn, our accommodation for the next two nights. We found the hotel within some beautiful scenery and made the most of the restaurant and bar which we enjoyed just enough, but an early night was in order.
The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and then made our way to the Adventure Center, just a convenient ten-minute ride from the Inn. We were met by the super-friendly Beth, who booked us all in and gave us the riding equipment we needed. You only need to bring a crash helmet and yourself, they take care of the rest.
I should also say that 7 out of 10 of us on the trip had never done any off-road riding on larger bikes, so some nerves were going around. These were mostly settled by meeting our instructors Gary, John, and Gareth. I've been taught by these guys before and I have to say, they're the best in the business.
We were introduced to our bikes, with a perfect mix of the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, Tiger 900 Rally Pro, Scrambler 1200 XE, Scrambler 900 and the all-new Scrambler 400 X. We swapped around bikes over the day so we were all able to experience each one and get a feel for all models.
We then made our way to the arena which is an experience on its own, especially for someone who's not ridden a bike set up for off-road, on the road, with knobbly tires. We managed to make it, even though the look on some people's faces said "What the hell am I doing here!".
The training started helping us understand the balance of the bikes along with an introduction to what we would be doing. We then jumped on for the first session which covered tight turns, braking, and understanding how the different modes on the bikes affect how you can ride them. It’s fantastic to see how even very experienced riders can learn new skills quickly when given the correct training.
After getting a feel for the different models and covering the basics, we headed off to the trails and were shown techniques for riding through ruts, deep water, steep hills, and declines. We swapped the bikes around often during the day with the Scrambler 400 X becoming a firm favourite. There were a few unwanted dismounts at a walking pace, but they allowed the camaraderie that had been built from the previous day's riding and time together over dinner, by helping each other out with encouragement. This was followed up with a de-brief and a well-deserved coffee.
Then for the main event. With the Welsh rain falling we journeyed back along a 30-mile ride using more trails and fire roads around the local area. Finding ourselves at a small river crossing, we'd discovered a great photo opportunity.
Arriving back at the adventure centre we were handed our certificates and given another debrief from the day overall. It has to be said how amazing the instructors and all the staff were with us. We changed back into our own bike gear and made our way back to our accommodation, where we enjoyed another tasty meal, and drinks while reliving all the stories from the day and playing who could stay awake past 9!
We set off for home the following morning around 11 AM for a very chilled ride home and we can't wait to go back again.
