The R 1300 GS is the lightest, most powerful GS ever. It sports upgraded standard equipment and a modern look designed with functionality in mind.
The new touring enduro takes what the R 1250 GS did well and kicks it up a notch with an impressive amount of optional extras and parts available (it's a big list). If you're looking for a bike that can do it all, it's this one.
And guess what? The R 1300 GS is now available with a brand-new feature from BMW: the optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) for automatic transmission. The system keeps the familiar left-foot shift lever but says goodbye to the clutch lever. With the ASA, you can enjoy a fully automatic ride or a switch to a "manual" mode with the shift lever. Along with four ride modes - Rain, Road, Enduro, and Eco mode - the R 1300 GS with ASA allows you to enjoy the ride, take in your surroundings, and let the bike do the rest.

The team at BMW Motorrad Welwyn Garden City recently got their hands on an R 1300 GS with ASA, and they've been having a blast trying it out. The whole team couldn't be more impressed with the experience, and Matthew, Head of Business, couldn't wait to share his first thoughts:
"Trying out the ASA for the first time was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed the automatic gearbox. The changes up and down the gears felt incredibly smooth, and even under hard riding, it was super responsive. The ABS and gear changes feel seamless when coming to a stop too, even when testing slightly harder braking.
The ASA suits the R 1300 GS perfectly and even better is that while fully automatic if you need to move up or down, you can still flick the gears yourself—easy as pie. There are no buttons, no messing about, it's as easy as that. You just go!"
