When Steve McQueen famously tore up the streets of San Francisco behind the wheel of a Mustang GT, he set a timeless benchmark for cinematic, anti-hero cool. It's that exact raw, unapologetic ethos that inspired the owner of this custom Triumph Bonneville T120 and directly fuelled the latest build from LIND × Stockwell Design at Triumph West London.
Meet Bullitt: a dark, moody and aggressively styled machine that takes Stockwell Design's signature rugged-urban aesthetic to another level.
Stockwell Design builds are unmistakable for their muscular presence, and Bullitt takes that signature silhouette a step further. While the popular Heidenau K60s are often a go-to choice for dual-sport builds, Bullitt rolls out on a set of Mitas Enduro Trail tyres. Featuring a significantly bolder tread pattern, the team squeezed a substantial 120-section tyre up front, giving the bike a noticeably broader, meaner front profile. The 120/18 front and 150/17 rear combination delivers an aggressive stance that perfectly complements the Bonneville's muscular proportions.
Framing those aggressive Mitas blocks is a full set of Galfer Wave brake discs, paired with high-performance sintered pads. They don't just complete the dark, mechanical aesthetics of the wheel assembly; they sharpen initial bite and deliver improved lever feel when hauling this heavyweight machine down from speed. A black billet rear sprocket, D.I.D gold chain and Motone chain guard complete the drivetrain details, adding another layer of purposeful refinement.
To ensure Bullitt handles the urban sprawl as aggressively as it looks, the factory suspension has been completely revised. Out back, twin FOX Racing rear shocks provide precise damping and a planted, confidence-inspiring ride. Up front, the forks received an Öhlins FSK120 spring kit, complemented by top caps with built-in preload adjusters, allowing the front end to be fine-tuned to the rider's weight and riding style.
The cockpit has also been given a more purposeful feel, with Street Slammer Bobber handlebars, Triumph heated grips, adjustable brake and clutch levers, and Motone Tri-Line bar-end mirrors. Together, these upgrades reinforce Bullitt's aggressive riding position while retaining the comfort and usability expected of a modern Bonneville.
To streamline the classic T120 lines, Stockwell Design turned to long-time collaborators at Motone. Up front sits a shaved, minimal front mudguard, while the rear profile is defined by a Motone Cortado kit, shortening the factory subframe, rear mudguard and saddle footprint for a tight, tucked-in rear end. Shortening a subframe often comes at the expense of comfort, but Bullitt balances form with function.
The custom saddle was reworked with an additional inch and a half of high-density foam, reshaped at the tail for better support under acceleration, and finished in a classic twin-stitch diamond pattern that echoes vintage McQueen-era racing jackets.
Further details include a BAAK headlamp bracket, Tamarit headlamp guard, Motogadget Mo.Blaze turn signals and a PIAA fog lamp, adding practical functionality without compromising the stripped-back appearance. Triumph 4-Bar fuel tank badges and custom-painted Bullitt side covers provide the finishing touches, giving the motorcycle its own distinctive identity.
A bike this menacing couldn't rely on a quiet exhaust. Bullitt gets its voice from a stocky, hot-rod Zard 2-2 full exhaust system. Delivering a deep, guttural rumble at idle and a fierce bark under throttle, the Zard pipes provide a soundtrack that perfectly matches Bullitt's dark, rebellious character. It's a fitting final piece for a motorcycle inspired by one of cinema's most iconic automotive anti-heroes.
Bullitt is a modern Bonneville with an unmistakably rebellious streak. From its broad Mitas tyres and upgraded FOX Racing and Öhlins suspension to its shortened silhouette, bespoke saddle and hot-rod Zard exhaust, every detail contributes to a motorcycle that looks as purposeful as it feels
Inspired by the attitude of Steve McQueen's legendary San Francisco car chase, Bullitt captures that same sense of raw, unapologetic individuality through Stockwell Design's distinctive approach to custom motorcycles.
