There are certain motorcycles that transcend trends. They become symbols of an era, capturing a spirit that continues to inspire generations of riders. The Highlands T120, a bespoke collaboration between Stockwell Design and Triumph London, draws from that rich heritage to create a modern Bonneville with one wheel firmly planted in Britain's motorcycling past.
While many Stockwell Design customs embrace darker finishes and contemporary styling, the Highlands T120 takes a different path. Inspired by the iconic desert sleds of the 1960s and the motorcycles ridden by legends such as Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins, it trades stealth for shine, celebrating polished metal, timeless proportions and purposeful simplicity.
At first glance, it's the colour palette that defines the Highlands. Finished in Land Rover Eastnor Green and Ivory, the bespoke paintwork pays homage to classic British engineering while complementing the Bonneville's unmistakable silhouette. The combination feels effortlessly timeless, enhanced by polished chrome finishes that replace much of the standard powder-coated hardware.
It's a motorcycle that looks every bit as comfortable catching the morning sun outside a country café as it does disappearing down a gravel track.
The transformation begins with the Bonneville's proportions. The original sweeping mudguards have been replaced with hand-trimmed, polished aluminium units, opening up the wheel arches and giving the bike a lighter, more agile appearance. The result is a silhouette reminiscent of the competition machines that once raced across the Californian desert.
Wrapped in Heidenau K60 Scout tyres, the Highlands is ready for far more than smooth tarmac, blending classic styling with genuine all-road capability.
Every component has been selected to enhance both form and function. A beautifully finished Zard 2-2 stainless steel exhaust system gives the Bonneville a richer, more characterful soundtrack while perfectly complementing the bike's polished aesthetic.
At the front, a BAAK headlight bracket pulls the headlamp closer to the forks, creating a cleaner profile, while Motogadget LED indicators reduce visual clutter and modernise the cockpit without compromising the bike's classic lines. The result is a motorcycle that feels refined, balanced and unmistakably bespoke.
The Highlands T120 doesn't attempt to recreate the past. Instead, it captures the feeling that made those classic desert sleds so enduring: freedom, adventure and understated style.
By combining heritage-inspired design with modern engineering, Stockwell Design has created a Bonneville that honours Triumph's history while remaining every bit a motorcycle for today.
Whether it's winding through country roads, exploring gravel tracks or simply turning heads wherever it's parked, the Highlands T120 proves that some legends never fade; they simply evolve.
Inspired by the golden era of British motorcycling, every Stockwell Design custom is built around its owner. Whether you have a clear vision or are starting with a blank canvas, we'll work with you to create a motorcycle that's uniquely yours.
