This bike is an attractive option for newer motorcyclists, with a low seat height and low weight. A developing throttle hand is also less likely to result in unintended consequences. The 975T is responsive, but has smooth power delivery right from low revs, making it an outstanding bike for commuting, as well as longer distance rides. The front profile is slim, while the weight is well balanced and carried low, helped by the fuel tank being under the seat. The dummy fuel tank is actually an airbox that feeds the downdraught fuel system.

There are three riding modes for you to select, Road, Sport and Rain, which are more than simply throttle response options. Traction control, engine braking, and ABS changes are part of the package. Certainly, the throttle response is sharpest in Sport mode, though it’s not so aggressive that it’s a problem. It allows experienced riders to wind the motor up quickly to its 9500 rpm redline, which is great fun. If you’re concerned about too much acceleration, the Road mode tames things down and should it start to rain, you’re able to take advantage of the Rain mode until things dry out.
