Stockwell Design's custom scramblers

Stockwell Design’s custom Triumph Scramblers aren’t just bikes, they’re statements on two wheels. Every build rolls out of Triumph London’s workshop with a presence that turns heads and a performance edge you can feel from the first twist of the throttle.

One of the defining traits of a Stockwell build is the perfect marriage of aggressive styling and serious engineering. In the custom, street, and cruiser scene, serious suspension performance upgrades are often treated as an afterthought, a cosmetic accessory at best. But for Charlie Stockwell, it’s the foundation of the ride.

That conviction comes from experience: years spent on the racetrack, and in Sweden working alongside Öhlins on R&D and design projects for
Harley-Davidson. In 2016, Charlie even helped launch the Öhlins Blackline series, now a go-to for riders who demand both performance and style. It’s no wonder Öhlins upgrades feature on almost every Stockwell Design Triumph custom. The result? A ride that soaks up the miles on-road, yet stays poised and capable when the tarmac ends. Stay tuned, we’ve got a deep-dive coming soon on the Stockwell–Öhlins connection, and why world-class suspension is the secret ingredient behind these iconic builds.

Charlie’s creative partnerships extend beyond performance engineering. His collaboration with the team at Image Design Custom is a long-standing one, spanning nearly two decades, and together they’ve crafted over 400 custom projects. While an aggressive Scrambler build might traditionally mean blacked-out-everything, this pairing isn’t afraid to defy expectations. In the past two years, they’ve produced some truly eye-catching, even outrageous, colourful Scramblers. Standouts include the vibrant
Baja range and the bold Santa Cruz 1200, proving that attitude on two wheels doesn’t have to come in monochrome.

Now with over 25 bikes revealed to the world online and many more out there to come, we thought we would take some time to showcase and celebrate the Scrambler builds that Charlie has worked on so far since starting his collaboration project with LIND.

Custom Triumph Scrambler 900 Charlie Stockwell

KYALAMI 900: LXSD076

Let's start with one of Charlie's most recent builds. Crayon Grey never looked so sharp on this Scrambler 900. With custom Öhlins fork internals and Blackline rear shocks, this Scrambler is tuned for precision handling, whether carving corners or hitting gravel tracks. Dual-purpose tyres keep it versatile, while Vorna Grey and Black accents add depth to the Porsche-inspired paint.

One glance and you know it’s a Scrambler built to move.

EL POTATO SCRAMBLER 900: LXSD056

This Scrambler 9 isn't your average spud. Revealed at the 2025 London Bike Shed Moto Show, El Potato is bold, stripped-back, and unapologetically different. Öhlins suspension, aggressive tyres, and a raw stance set the tone, while a custom Image Design paint scheme gives it unmistakable flair.

It’s the perfect blend of rugged off-road capability and premium street presence, for the rider who wants to turn heads everywhere, not just in the paddock.

Custom Triumph Baja Scrambler Series Charlie Stockwell

BAJA X SERIES

Now, let's look at some of the more out-there builds we've done with Image Design custom.

Born from 80s Baja 1000 inspiration, the
Baja X Series celebrates the wild side of off-road racing heritage. Revealed at the 2024 London Bike Shed Moto Show, this limited collection of Scramblers faced the world with bright colourways, twin headlamp conversions, and period motocross details. Ready for the desert while catching the eye.

Underneath, Metzeler Karoo™ 4 tyres and robust build specs kept them just as ready for the road. Whether it’s the big
1200 XE, the 1200 X, or the playful 400 X, each one is built to make you feel like you’re lining up at the start of an epic rally stage.

SANTA CRUZ SCRAMBLER 1200: LXSD035

Keeping with colourful, here's some seventies soul with modern muscle.

The Santa Cruz Scrambler 1200 XE channels the golden age of custom culture, think candy colours, knobbly tyres, and a soundtrack from a wild Hitchcox shotgun exhaust. Inspired by the energy of 70s American “day vans,” it’s playful yet potent, and every detail, from custom wheels to vibrant paint, invites you to ride with a grin.

GHOST SCRAMBLER: LXSD012

Next is elegance in motion. Inspired by the Leica Ghost Edition camera, the Ghost Scrambler 1200 XC pairs timeless styling with purposeful performance.

Commissioned by architect and TV presenter George Clarke, it’s a build that speaks to precision and artistry with clean lines, premium finishes, and a quiet confidence that says just as much as any loud paint job ever could.

SCRAMBLER 1200 1G: LXSD008

This build feels part James Bond, part Mad Max. Subtle yet dramatic, it’s a simple but brutally effective scrambler built for pure visual and mechanical impact.

The
Scrambler 1200 1G turns simplicity into a statement with its bare-metal-effect paint, custom number boards, and fenderless tail. The Zard 2-into-2 slash-cut exhaust adds bite, while the overall stance is pure, purposeful muscle, ready to make an impact whether it’s parked or pinned wide open.

Custom Triumph Bonneville T120 Charlie Stockwell

BONNEVILLE T120 DS: LXSD003

While not built from a stock Triumph Scrambler, the T120 DS was the first collaboration between LIND Triumph London and Stockwell Design and a Bonneville with unmistakable Scrambler soul.

With clean lines, an upright stance, and subtle detailing, it’s a perfect marriage of heritage charm and modern capability, inspired by the golden 60s but built for today’s roads.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Charlie hints that there’s plenty more in the pipeline at Triumph London, with four new Scrambler custom projects currently in the works. The styles couldn’t be more varied, from the Lotus F1 Racing livery we teased in a recent newsletter, to dark and moody Scrambler 900 and 1200 builds that radiate stealth and presence.

We’ll be revealing more on each of these projects in the coming weeks, so watch this space.
