Harley-Davidson is getting ready to introduce something rather different for 2027. Meet the all-new Sprint 440, a lightweight new model designed to bring a fresh generation of riders into the Harley-Davidson fold.
For now, Harley is keeping most of the details under wraps. What it has confirmed is a 440 designation and a focus on lightweight, agile and accessible riding, with the new Sprint pitched at everything from city streets and everyday journeys to weekend escapes. The teaser images give us a little more to go on, revealing a low-slung roadster with a stepped seat, upright bars and a distinctly more compact silhouette than we’re used to seeing from Milwaukee.
The name itself isn't new. Harley-Davidson used the Sprint badge during the 1960s and 1970s, and the company is openly referencing that history in the build-up to the new bike, while making it clear that this won't simply be a recreation of the original. Its own teaser describes the new Sprint 440 as “more capable and more powerful than ever before.”
Exactly what is powering it remains one of the big unanswered questions. Despite the 440 name, Harley-Davidson hasn't yet released the engine configuration, power, torque, weight, chassis specification or pricing, so we'll resist filling in the blanks until we have the numbers.
What Harley is telling us gives a fairly clear indication of the Sprint's intended role. The emphasis is on making everyday riding fun, with the company describing it as lightweight and agile and positioning it for city riding as much as weekend escapes. How it rides, how much it costs and exactly where it fits into the wider range will have to wait for the full reveal. For now, Harley-Davidson says the all-new Sprint 440 will make its debut soon.
