In the heart of the capital, beneath the railway arches of Triumph London and across Triumph East, West, and North London, Charlie Stockwell is quietly redefining the modern classic.
Long known for his work with Harley-Davidson, Stockwell has turned his attention toward the Triumph Bonneville T120 and T100, using them as a foundation for a growing series of custom builds. The approach is not about reinvention for its own sake, but about refinement, balancing raw aggression with a sense of mid-century elegance that feels both familiar and new.
From the dark, performance-led Raven T120 to the aviation-inspired Sunraiser T100, the Bonneville becomes more than a motorcycle. It becomes a canvas.
"The Bonneville gives us the perfect start. The chassis and motor are sound; there isn't much we need to change there. A lot of the time, we want to keep that iconic silhouette anyway." — Charlie Stockwell
If the standard T120 leans toward heritage polish, the Raven T120 moves in the opposite direction. This is a build defined by a blackout philosophy. Chrome is stripped away in favour of depth and shadow, giving the bike a more aggressive, urban presence. The silhouette is tightened through a shortened subframe and a slab-style saddle, while the stance is sharpened to feel lower, more deliberate, and more composed.
The transformation goes beyond aesthetics. Upgraded suspension brings a new level of precision, with Öhlins Blackline rear dampers and Marzocchi forks refining the ride. Braking is elevated to match, with Brembo monobloc callipers and high-performance discs delivering sharper control under load. A full Zard 2-2 exhaust completes the build, giving the Bonneville a deeper, more guttural voice.
The Raven doesn’t exaggerate. It distils.

Where the Raven is shadow, the Sunraiser T100 is light. Built for Dougie Poynter and entered into Triumph’s global Originals competition, where it placed second worldwide and earned a Mark of Excellence for British Originality, the Sunraiser represents a different interpretation of the Bonneville platform.
The influence here is aviation, drawing heavily from 1950s aircraft design. Polished aluminium surfaces, fluted engine covers, and a genuine aircraft navigation light integrated into the tail create a sense of craftsmanship that feels both nostalgic and precise. Even the smaller details, from the hand-turned fuel cap to the instrument-inspired lighting, reinforce the theme.
The result is a machine that feels considered rather than styled. Where the Raven removes, the Sunraiser reveals.
In just over a year, Charlie Stockwell established himself as a leading name in modern custom culture. His Bonnevilles are not mass-produced showpieces; they are deeply personal machines that reflect the individuality of their owners and the artistry of their creator.
From retro classics reborn to dark, aggressive statements, Stockwell’s work proves that the Triumph Bonneville is more than just a motorcycle; it’s a timeless canvas for reinvention. And under the arches at Triumph London, that reinvention is happening one masterpiece at a time.
More recently, this thinking has evolved into something more immediate. Stockwell Design has begun to bridge the gap between a standard factory motorcycle and a full bespoke build. Working closely with his "inner circle" of long-trusted brands and partners in the custom scene, a carefully selected list of parts will transform your modern classic within a day.
Stockwell’s design philosophy focuses on "intentional" mods, changing the bike’s silhouette and stance without compromising the engineering that makes a Triumph a Triumph. One of our first and recent examples of this can be seen over at the Triumph East London showroom now.
Based on a 2026 Triumph T100 in Stone Grey, the bike has been reworked to introduce a more rugged, all-road character. Heidenau K60 tyres shift its intent beyond the road, while a shortened rear fender and high-tail setup tighten the silhouette. Lighting is refined through discreet indicators and a single PIAA fog lamp, while protective elements such as a sump guard, radiator guard, and headlamp guard add durability without excess. Details like a Viper saddle, bar-end mirrors, and a gold chain paired with a black billet sprocket bring texture and contrast, completing the transformation.
It isn’t a full custom in the traditional sense, but rather a considered step between standard and bespoke. If you’re keen to order this bike or a similar package, enquire online now and connect with Charlie.
